The USB Crisis!! :(
Actually, I should be posting this as a good news but unfortunately things didn’t end up so well. It all started on October 9th, 2010 when I planned to get myself a Motor Bike (Yamaha Fazer). Along with my parents, I went to the Yamaha Showroom, here at Coimbatore, IN. I tested out the Fazer for half an hour and It just wasn’t my thing for that moment. So, I dumped the idea of getting a bike and instead I planned to get a PC, which later turned out to be some sort of Workstation. I headed to CompuSoft Systems, where I ordered the components for my new PC. The Components were :
1. Intel DX58SO Extreme Series Motherboard
2. Intel i7 Processor
3. Transcend 6GB RAM
4. Seagate 1TB HDD
5. Logitech MM Keyboard and Mouse
6. Samsung 24″ Full HD Monitor
I placed the order and the dealers told me that my PC will assembled with two business days. So, I waited and on October 11th, we called them back to check the status of my PC. They gave a positive reply that everything has been assembled and its ready for delivery. That day, at 6pm we went to the store to take our PC and we came back home at 9pm. I was curious to turn on the PC, I formatted the drive and installed Windows 7 Professional to the hard drive. Soon everything was setup perfectly and was ready to do some work. I started off by plugging in my friend’s (Panneer) Flash Drive to my front USB port of my cabinet and was disappointed to see that Windows was not responding to it. I thought something might be wrong with the flash drive, so I removed it and plugged in my flash drive. It was same case, windows was not detecting too. The lights on the flash drive just blinked for a second or two and then turned off. In spite of knowing that something is wrong with the USB ports, I connected my DELL LASER Mouse to the front USB port as the mouse has a good plug-n-play interface and its visually interactive. I was hoping it would work but for my bad time, the mouse didnt work too. Still not knowing real cause of the problem, I removed the mouse and plugged in my Ike (Nokia 5800) with the USB cable to the same front USB port and I was astonished to see that Windows detected it as an “Unkown Device” which soon gave an error message “The Device is malfunctioning. Please remove the device and plug it again.” Then I plugged the mouse to the USB ports on the Backside of the cabinet and was shocked to see that the mouse was not working. I restarted the computer three times and it was was of no use.
Terribly upset about the condition, me and my dad opened the cabinet to see what was wrong with the USB ports in the front and we were shocked to see that the stupid fools at the store, plugged the USB interface to some other port in the motherboard!! This simple mistake caused such a terrible tragedy to my devices killing them one by one!! The USB ports which usually takes less than 5volts for working properly were supplied with 12volts from the motherboard which was the main cause of the death of my devices. Now, having lost 2 flash drives, a laser mouse and the usb circuits in my phone, I had to buy them all of them back again . But still I don’t know how to solve my USB problem in my phone. If you have a solution for it, please post it below on the comments section. And thanks for reading.. :( :(
