Me and My Kulfi Story..!!

Its May 21st, and its birthday for my Grandpa, who is a just-in member to our home after we went to Pondicherry. To celebrate that we headed to the Maruthamalai Temple in the early morning itself in a cab. We spent about an hour there, the weather was pretty amazing. It was cloudy with fog filled almost everywhere but the visibility was not bad. I took my Ike to take some snaps but it weren’t good due to the weather. After an hour, the sun came shiny on and the weather turned very sunny. After that, we called the cab back and started heading out for breakfast.

We went inside the city to the streets of R.S. Puram to the most popular Sree Annapoorna Restaurant for our breakfast. After finishing the main meal, I ordered the strange looking Kulfi. It was presented in a pot made of clay/sand and was looking very cute. It was kept in a freezer at a temperature of -3°C and it was solid ice when it was given to me. It was accompanied with a metal spoon and I tried to break it up with it but no use. The spoon curved into half when I poking the kulfi again and again. Seeing one of the waiters called the others and started discussing how to melt it down. It seemed as if this one was not commonly ordered by any of the others. The people in the neighboring tables started starting me as if I’m an alien and some of them even started laughing. One of the 4 waiters went to the cooking place and came back with a bowl filled with hot water. They told me to keep the pot over that to melt it down. Instead of getting melted, the kulfi pot made cooled down the hot water and still it was like solid ice. I told my mom whether I could take it out of the restaurant and eat it while returning home. The waiters said okay but they told to return the metal spoon and gave me a small bamboo twig and a white plastic use-and-throw spoon. Taking that, I came out and started eating it in the streets. Most of the people and the waiters in the restaurant were laughing at me on my way down from the restaurant. But that didn’t stop there, the people in the streets also started looking at me strangely eating from a sand pot. I couldn’t wait to get back to the cab. So I got in and finished eating before reaching home. After reaching home, I cleaned the pot well and filled it with real clay. Then I planted a Jade Plant (a.k.a Money Plant or Crassula ovata) and now it’s resting on my i7 PC’s table. The End. This is one of the strangest days ever.
