Good Bye NIET!

It’s been 4 long years and my college life has finally come to an end. To be true, I never liked my college with its stupid rules and the lack of resources it provided me but nonetheless I did have a splendid time down the calendar. It all started when my friend Mani from Madurai who excited me about this college such a way that it is one of the best colleges in Tamilnadu and Kerala. He said that the college had lots of aircrafts and helicopters with very large buildings. He was about to join this college under management quota but at last he didn’t and he ended up joining the Kalasilingam University instead. Little did I know, that this NIET would become my college in the future. As for me, I wasn’t having a lot of marks in my higher secondary examinations and therefore I couldn’t get any good colleges. And when the Anna University counseling day for me, I was happy that the seats at NIET weren’t finished yet and thinking that its one of the best colleges as Mani told me, I decided to join it.

Soon, when me and my parents went and visited the college for the first time, we saw what the real story was. My mom got shocked on seeing the unpainted concrete buildings in which I had to study for 4 years and furthermore, she couldn’t accept how horrible the hostels looked at that time. I was filled with remorse and I had no other choice than to accept that this is the college for me and I had to cope with it. While paying the fees, we met Suganya, my first NIETn classmate. My mom enquired her dad about her marks and soon my mom started scolding me a lot as if I’m a total failure. My first encounter with another NIETn didn’t go so well and that’s when I really started hating NIET. Later when the inauguration ceremony started, I met T. Mani, who was with his dad on the way to the hostel. My mom asked him which department he belonged to and he said its Computer Science. Obviously, he became my first NIETn among the boys although I didn’t talk to him and I was looking forward to meet him when the college starts. After the college started, certain embarrassing situations happened like my mom accompanying to college the first week every morning as if I’m a 9-year old school kid. That’s when I was knew Kasi, Lilly and Debby. I couldn’t forget the first day of college when my mom accompanied me even inside the class and made me sit in the first bench with Nantha Kumar. All the students stood up thinking that my mom is the staff but they soon realized it was just my mom. According to the survey I made at the end of the 4th year, most of my classmates didn’t remember this incident. As for the first year, I had a very strong vision to obtain a lot of marks and started studying really hard to gain what I lost in the higher secondary exam. I had certain targets (competitors, enemies or whatever) to beat, such as Suganya (because of my mom’s continuous scoldings and mark comparisons), Panneer (because of his high marks in the internal exams), Kirthika (because of insulting me in the Physics Lab to pass my note or something through Kasi without asking me directly). But soon, all of these became part of my close friends.

When the lateral students came in the 2nd year, most of my classmates didn’t want me to have a good relation with them. Most of them objected me since I was talking to them but I didn’t care about it. I am and was always adventurous to meet new people and learn about them and that’s how I met Arumugam, Sadam and others. That was the time when I started a very very bad habit which I deeply regret and hate a lot till date — “Continuous Insanely Unwanted Texting for the whole day 24x7”. I became an text addict by which I couldn’t take my eyes off the phone and soon lost a lot of productivity and creativity. The habit got worser by the year and by the start of the 4th year, I had absolutely no productivity at all with very little things done new for every few months. I stopped learning new things and didn’t even know what to do for regaining my old position in the early past. To add more, I would have got trillions of billions of scoldings from my mom while texting which the other person on the end texting me might not even know. Anyways, I did manage to release my websites, learn some new softwares like After effects and such. Of course, Texting wasn’t all that bad, there were some really special fun times with really special friends, sharing of knowledge, reporting announcements and emergency situations with others.

Moving on, I stopped learning too much (I wasn’t much of a over-studying student, anyway) by the start of 2nd year and became really over-confident. My SGPAs started dropping down to 80s and I wasn’t much worried about it. By 5th sem, I wasn’t paying much attention to studies at all and I was studying everything only the day before the exams. But instead, I did make a lots of friends, well wishers and fans along the way. Here’s the final list of friends I made in NIET :

Best Friend :

I usually have a very best friend at every part of my life and that’s how I got Shubham, Manoj, Prince. It all depends how fun, inspiring, smart, always positive, cool, matured and aspiring they are and at the same time, how much they treat me as a friend, I couldn’t find anyone like that in NIET like my previous best friends :(

Special friends :

Probably, these are friends whom I like the most in NIET for their fun character, matured and cool attitude, positive, encouraging, catalytic, and a special something inside everyone one of them. And they comprise of :

  • Lilly (My Best Friend in whole of NIET)
  • Nalini (My Most Favorite Friend in NIET)
  • Kanchana
  • Prabhu
  • Thirumalvalavan

Other Friends, Fans, Well Wishers :

Just because they are the third in the list doesn’t mean that they are not important. These friends comprise of my close friends, fans, well wishers who may like me more than I like them myself.

  • Arumugam
  • Kirthika
  • Panneer Selvam
  • Abdul Jaleel
  • Sadam Hussain
  • Suganya
  • Debby
  • Kunthavai Devi
  • Kasi
  • Shahul
  • Mani. T
  • Muthu Sankar
  • Dinakaran
  • Bagavath Singh
  • Arun Malar
  • Deenuji
  • Sharath

  • and Many Many More…..

I had learnt a lot from my irreversible mistakes I did in the past 4 years which I deeply regret and I’m trying not to make more of them in the future. I am growing up every year for every birthday and I’m trying to stay matured as possible leaving all the stupid childishness behind. Everyday gives a new experience and an opportunity to learn more and I wish to grab every part of it. Something that hasn’t changed a bit before I joined NIET and till today is that — I still hate girls in general even though I learnt that not all of them are the same — And I still terribly hate advices whomever it maybe the one who is giving to me, even if its my parents. There aren’t many ppl in NIET whom I’m going to miss a lot. But there are ppl whom I am going to miss and so I keep disturbing them whether they like it or not.

I really appreciate and feel very grateful to everyone of you who were with me at NIET. Thanks for all the love and care you’ve shown to me for the past 4 years. On the last day of the college, when the boys wanted me to sign their shirts so badly and in turn they wrote “I miss you” and “I love you” on my shirt — not sure whether its true or not, Thanks for everything! I certainly do not look forward to meet any NIETn again but I would really be happy to have a get together party and I wanna be a part of it for sure!

Stay United, Hoping to see all of you together again soon, Good Bye NIET!

A quick note to those who wondered what ‘3’ means when I type that in gtalk, it just means a blind silly ok :-)
