Change is Good…
It’s about 3 weeks at Consim and I believe I haven’t made any good progress in making friends, or maybe I could be wrong. Needless to say, as I told in my previous, my team is super awesome, very jovial and cool just like my special friends at NIET, I’m very glad to be a part of this team. One thing is for sure, their characters are very odd and new to me which kind of takes me more time than the usual to mingle with them.
For now, I have two great buddies and advisors, Vishnu and Dharani, who stick with me almost all the time and make me feel comfortable in this odd environment. A few days back, we had a very fun dinner at KFC as we walked a long way from our office to the restaurant where we had a fantastic meal. I usually don’t like the taste of KFC, but it definitely tasted better with my new friends around. As I said before, I’m learning more everyday to change like the rest of my team by learning their ways of conversing and the activities they do while we are in the office.
Every morning, I team up with my friend Srinath and have a wonderful breakfast with him, which is also kind of new to me. Since he is from Chennai, he teaches me a lot of things I need to know about the city and certain facts I never knew about.
Every afternoon, I have a very small conversation with Bharath and Arun Prasad as we watch the ships crusing along the shore of the Marina Beach which could be clearly seen from the top floor (Terrazza) of our building.
And inside the office, we have a certain fun filled learning going on with my friends Dharani, JiJi akka, Chetna, Ishwarya and Abhi. I still have to mingle more with Karthick and Santhosh though, who still remain as the mystery boys to me but that’s sure to change soon.
I love the change I’m being put into, but I couldn’t keep up with the pace, I try to do my best but I just couldn’t do it. Maybe some catalysing event can speed things up a bit and one such event happened today. We got our last semester results today and all of us were very happy that we have finally graduated and have officially became engineers. And in order to celebrate it, we went up to the terrazza for treats and had a fun conversation in the canteen. After some time, we came out to the dark and had a hour long talk about ghosts and stuff in the veranda. Seeing the beautifully lit view of Chennai, I stood silent as everyone were discussing about the topic. I had no idea to share and was never put into an atmosphere like this, so I compeletely did not know what to do. The things spoken by Santhosh and Srinath were very informative and made me to think why am I not aware of these kind of things. None of them know that I have phobia for biology and I kinda got creeped out while they were talked about dead people.
Moving on, today I felt for the second time that we are a gang than just a team, as we walked together till the main road talking and having lots of fun where each and every bit of it, was a whole new experience showing a new beginning of my life. The things that I’ve missed in the stupid NIET, have to started to show up in the form of my all new friends whom I love a lot.
Although I live alone in my new home, the memories made in the day at Consim fills me and removes my loneliness to last throughout the night and makes me more excited for the next day.
