Level Up!
So, you’ve noticed my loooong and stupid ‘About Me’ that I’ve updated on the top. Well, that’s great! Thank you! Before we start digging into my life, I wish to thank all my fans on Facebook and those around the world who are supporting me for my career and for my websites. I really appreciate your overwhelmed support and I’m very surprised myself in the events that happened in the past few weeks. Last week, One of my commercial websites, TechTwinklers.com got shut down as I couldn’t pay the renewal fees in time due to the lack of high speed internet and time here in Chennai and therefore it lost the entire searching engine rankings on all search engines as the website got a DNS error. I was very much depressed and asked for help on forums and technical support but they said I was out of luck. But magically, after regaining the site back in the event of paying the fees, the hits started rising gradually and the magical part is that 96% of them were direct traffic — which could only mean the people who visited my website had actually saved it as their bookmarks or something similar. And thanks to them, TechTwinklers.com is now having a SEO ranking better than ever!! Almost all unique articles get to the first or the second page on Google Search and so — Time To Celebrate!!
But hey, you are not here to know about bla-bla-bla websites right? You are here to know about me and my friends, which is kind of weird. Really…
Okay, Here we go..
So, its been almost a month, that’s right — 21 days and I’ve got my first salary! Yipeeeeee….oh but wait, I have to give the entire amount to my house owner in the name of rent! Boooooo……Yes, I’m a big stupid and I know it. Please don’t call me and remind me about that again. Let’s just forget about that and move on. Although it started awesome in the early days of Consim, life is turning mechanical as days pass by but I couldn’t say the same about my friends who are filled with Pure Awesomeness!! (Except one or two — I had to add this line because I have to tell the truth). Commonly I sleep every night early at around 9.30 PM, setting the alarm at 5, 5.30 and 6 AM purposely, just so I can snooze the alarm for another half an hour and get a dreamy beautiful nap after turning off the alarm down. As I am totally locked with Consim memories in my mind, the only thing that comes to my dreams are my table and my friends at Consim. Their influence is so powerful on me that every night, I see the same monitor, the same friends sit around me and when I wake up in the morning, I see a stupid window in a deserted home somewhere in Chennai. And the day’s office experience is like actually living the dream, I dream last night every time. At the 3rd alarm — 6 AM, I wake up and get ready as slow as possible till the time ticks 8.30 AM. I lock my home and move to the office in an Auto Rickshaw wasting Rs.50, and that makes Rs.100 when I get home back at night. I have my breakfast at Terrazza in my office building with Sri which makes the morning lively.
I hate these stupid formals which I have to wear on the regular days, and the stupid salty water here in Chennai is gradually making my skin go darker by the day. At around 9.50, my rocking team — Team Aficionado makes their way through the office and even though my heart feels to wish Good morning to every one of them, my idiotic brain messes everything up and I wont even give a proper reply to them when they wish me. God only knows why! Maybe its because of the habit of not talking to any girl at NIET and maybe because of not having the habit of wishing good morning verbally to any of my classmates in college, I think this much be one of the things I must change first.
Everything I do in office is something which I did years ago and so the work I do is awfully boring for me. The only thing that is fun for me and which I love to do when I in my table, is to watch others, especially Dharani and Chetna, how they work and study non stop to complete their tasks. I also like helping others who ask for help who are far away from my place. Although, the ‘Thank you’s that they give after I help and the ‘Sorry’s which they ask when I ask for my help are extremely annoying (Friends don’t say those words to each other for simple things like this in Coimbatore).
Houston! We have a Problem!
Days went okay, but today — July 5th, things started getting really ugly and depressing. Today, I was requested to move to a different place where I am bound to be alone and a location so common to be viewed by all. I really couldn’t take it, with no idea what to do, I was sitting aimlessly near Sri. I had a slight hope that I could escape from the dreadful scenario but the events that followed turned out to be shocking. For one, Dharani had no feelings that I’m about to leave him, while others blamed me to stop crying like a cry-baby and just get on with sitting in the new place. With no other go, I moved on with a small optimistic thought that I got a brand new Lenovo Workstation to work with. But no, the bad day wanted to keep getting worse.
I had to swap PCs with Jiji Akka and so I had changed the settings for the mail for myself to work but the network settings were configured improperly, therefore the Internet did not work. After wasting an hour to get the System Administrator to come see me at my place, he concentrated more on scolding me for about 5 minutes non stop instead of getting the work done. I was unaware that I not permitted to change settings on the system and so I kept standing with no word to speak out and soon, the whole system was changed to the old one which I using previously. This one has a very old processor and works extremely slow to cope up with my pace of working. Being used to working on a Quad-Core Intel i7 CPU-based PC and Mac for the past 2 and half years, I really miss a lot of freedom and ability to show my full potential in the work to be done in less time
Sad things, add on..
Seriously, having to sit with an old PC is no problem for me as I said the work is boring for me to do since I’ve almost tried everything already. But I really really miss my new friends  , especially Dharani and Chetna. I don’t care whether they miss me or not but I wish we all could be together again soon. Sometimes, during the lunch I feel like I’m a wrong piece to a wonderful Jigsaw puzzle when we all sit together in the canteen. Most of the time, I couldn’t talk even though I feel like talking just because I have difficulty in eating too much of hotel food which kind of makes me feel uncomfortable as I’m always used to eat my Mom’s preparation at Coimbatore. And sometimes, Arun Prasad and Bharath give me a perfect company for lunch.
I am trying everything I can to engage my friendship with others from Day 1. One of the primary things I did was, I got all their phone numbers and started texting them every morning and night. As most of you know, how angry I get when someone doesn’t reply to my text messages. I thought many of my new friends are good texters and so I started wishing them ‘Good Morning’ and ‘Good Night’ and some forwards too. A horrific result of my experiment, except for Sri who had replied or wished back a few times, and one or two sent replies 2–3 times, others did not care much about my text messages  ( I would like to insert hundreds of sad smileys here). After two weeks of research, I finally stopped wishing them in texts starting last monday. Maybe its because they are not texters, or they are trying to behave professional, or because I’m a new friend or worst case scenario — they might not like to text me  . In the event of stopping the texts to them, I accidently stopped wishing my other friends too. But thankfully for the past three days, they wished me every morning and night with my good ol’ name added to every message and sending it exclusively to me rather than forwarding to a group just I like would text! Thanks guys, you still make me feel special!
And just because my new friends aren’t good texters to me, that doesn’t mean they can escape from me that easy. I’ll try to experiment and find more ways to become closer to everyone one of them and make them stick to me coz I don’t wanna miss any of these guys. While some of them wonder why I’m so different, I wonder why they are all the same. I’ve been a special friend for almost everyone at NIET and I hope I’ll be the same to atleast one or two here by the end of six months. There is still a lot to change in me, especially my analysing character as Vishnu pointed out, and I’m working on it. To be true, the one and only reason I like staying in Consim now is because of my new friends and secondly, our Saichitra mam.
 A small note : I came to know most of you are not aware of the words I that I use for blogging, for example — Houston, in this post for instance — those words are actually linked to what they mean, you can actually click them to get to know why I’ve used them.
