Everything Happens For A Reason…

I’ve been waiting, waiting, and waiting. It’s been a month since I’ve written something on my blog and even the keyboard of my mac feels new to me after not using it for a long time. My dearest device has lost its battery health to almost a half of its lifetime because of me and I feel very sorry for it :( . Although I had planned several posts by the end of every week, I didn’t have the mindset to post them because of the unpleasant environment that has been surrounding us for nearly a month now. I’ve almost forgot everything that I wished to write, which is why the previous posts have been deleted abruptly. Anyways, I’ll try to rewind my past and try to continue from where I had left off.

After a month, I had a chance to meet Arumugam once again. Since Dharani had went to his relatives’ home, me and Vishnu had to stay alone in the hostel room. So, I had planned to goto the Besant Nagar beach and Vishnu decided to goto the gym. I started all by myself in the afternoon after having lunch and for the first time, I got a chance to take a A/C Transit bus for going to Adyar. After getting down at the bus depot at Adyar, I had to use my Xype to find out the way to the Elloits Beach at Besant Nagar. I started walking for around 20 minutes with so many things happening around me and there was so many things to learn. Almost after an hour, Arumugam had reached Besant Nagar. I was in a call with Shahul and Arumugam was calling me to ask where I was, and to make things interesting, I connected them both into a conference call. While they both were busy talking to each other, I took the chance to search where Arumugam was roaming and gave him a surprise from the back. We went to the nearest hotel, ‘Murugan Idli Kadai’ and had Jigarthanda (a milkshake filled with jelly) after a long time. It wasn’t as good as the ones I used to have at Madurai, but it had a pretty decent taste. Then we walked across the beach and sat down by shore. Sharing all the stories between us and reliving the college moments, we spent almost 3 hours sitting in the same place. After the sun had set, the day had gone dark, we started moving to the nearest food court. Arumugam gave me a treat and also I had tried something to try for the first time from ‘Cafe Coffee Day’. He got me an Ice Cream filled Blackforest cake, which was just scrumciously delicious. By the time, we headed out of the food court, the whole city was drenched with rain on the streets. We walked down the water-filled roads to reach the bus stop and on the way, we ran into some of the dirtiest troubles. I was fully drenched head to toe, and was sure that I’m going to get a severed cold or fever. All the merciless drivers splashed the water on us and the people walking by the sides of the road, as the zoomed on the streets. By the time we reached the bus depot, a girl in a white dress was walking opposite to us, and she was very careful such that her beautiful white dress doesn’t get any mud on it. But stupid me, in a hurry I jumped over a puddle and splashed mud over her dress. She would have got so angry and scolded me a lot in her mind :( “I’m sorry whomever you are”. Finally, I managed to get bus somehow and I finally reached home by 9PM.

One of the other happy things that happened to me was, My school buddies Prince and Freddy came to my office to see me after nearly 5 years. I was so excited to meet them. We had a little talk in the park for quite a while. I couldn’t talk properly because of the very bad dry cough I had obtained because of that rain. We wandered our office building and I gave them a mini blackforest treat in our office canteen. After an hour, they both left me and started moving to their homes. Prince wished to give something to me before he leaves, he forgot to bring the chocolates he had bought for me from abroad and therefore he gave me his old identity card from his ship for his remembrance.

I was also able to meet Ganesh, Dikshith and Gift after 4 years. We all met at the Express Avenue mall, watched a movie and done a lot of shopping together.

Another good thing that happened was that I took my first knowledge sharing sessions in office and got the first place. Big thanks to all to all those who had voted for me and made this possible.

This month, two of my three best friends had their birthdays. We had been planning to gift her a FastTrack watch. We ordered a cool trendy looking leather watch for her over the internet. We were hoping that it’ll reach us on the day of her birthday. The day before her birthday, Me, Sri and Chetna grouped together for coffee in the office pantry room and were planning how to surprise her. We were sharing several ideas and I gave a stupid idea of keeping some pictures as her wallpaper on the next day so that it’ll be surprising when she turns on her PC. Her birthday had finally come, and we wished her by midnight and I did some comedies as usual. By morning, Me and Sri were once again planning to do something to surprise her while walking towards the office. After reaching, I started executing my stupid idea of creating a wallpaper, and Sri was collecting a lot of photos of her friends. After we both finished it, we kept the photos as her wallpaper and turned off her system. After half an hour or so, Ishwarya and Chetna (who was in mega makeup than the birthday girl :-D ) came in. Sri said Ishwarya got surprised by the wallpapers, and so Score 1 for the team :) . Later on, I started checking the status of the watch we had ordered and shockingly (but luckily), the order was withdrawn by the company since the watch was damaged. It’s a matter of luck for us, since one of Ishwarya’s friends had come to see her and he too had bought a FastTrack watch for her. We all had lunch together and took group snaps after our meals. As always, we had the cake cutting in our pantry room, where Ishwarya was thrown into answering some very awkward and boring questions which we weren’t expecting. By the end of the day, Chetna went crazy for a treat as she pushed us all to a low graded non-vegetarian hotel, where we had lots of fun while eating and I believe it was the last treat we had with our gang’s full fun spirit filled in. If you are guessing that things are going to be tragic from now on, well, probably you maybe right.

Following Ishwarya, came Chetna’s birthday. Being my teammate, I had very big plans for her, I wished that we should make it a blast. As a whole, I didn’t have proper support to do anything special. Realising many things my friends had taught me, I at-least wanted something on her desk that shows that we are all a one big gang and no one can separate us. Ishwarya got a beautiful dress for her when she went home and it was the only part of the plan. A day before Chetna’s birthday, I told her that we’ll be giving something for her made out of nothing and something that is worthless in terms of money. I actually planned to give the Black & White ring which Dharani had snatched from her when we went to the Tnagar shopping. On her birthday, Me and Dharani had wished her over texting while Vishnu was in a deep sleep. On the morning, we teased him by reminding him about her birthday who was mind-struck for a second and immediately started calling her. It was extremely funny to see how he responded to us. I couldn’t resist my hands being empty for Chetna’s birthday and so I got ready real fast and zoomed for the breakfast. I went to the nearest stationary store with Dharani where we stood for probably 20 minutes to get some A4 sheets and a marker pen since the shop was filled some girls from a nursing college taking photocopies. After getting the sheets we went back to the hostel. While others were busy eating, I started making a Japanese Paper Box (Thanks to my childhood origami skills). All of them were keenly looking at what the hell was I making but in the end, It was Dharani who made the two boxes close just like a jewel box. After getting things done, we ran towards our office cab, and reached the office in time. After finishing the final touches to the box, I took the pen and started wandering to the places of my friends to get their signatures on the box while most of the colleagues were seeing what I was doing. I got everything well prepared and devised a way how to give it to her. We were all waiting and waiting for her to come in but she came very late, i.e., by afternoon, and therefore our excitement levels became very low. Anyways, we were happy on seeing her since her day was going great than she expected. By lunch, she had seen our gift and she liked it. After finishing our lunch, we gifted her the dress we had bought for her and once again took a lot of snaps. By the evening, we had the cake cutting, where Chetna couldn’t escape from the cake on her face like Ishwarya did. One of the craziest things that happened on that day was, Chetna’s dad had ordered 4 pizzas from dominoes and let her pay for it :-D We secretly went upstairs and had the pizzas fill our tummies. It was the last event in which my dear friend Bharath, had shown a significant presence :-( By night, Chetna’s best friend from Trichy had came to visit her, and we had a chance to meet him too.

And from that day on, we started waiting for Ishwarya’s and Chetna’s combined birthday treat. Now you can read the first line of this post once again. Due to several disputes inside our team or because of ill timings for our work, we were not able to have their treat. All the guys were very excited for the treat, they even started searching for a good hotel. One of which was Wang’s Kitchen. It’s a Chinese restaurant which serves a lot of food for an affordable price. One fine evening, we ordered food on home delivery, and that was the day when Bharath called me and said, he is going to resign his job and never coming back. Although I wasn’t shocked to here this, I felt that I want to meet him atleast once again before leaving. So I told him to come to office the next day but he didn’t turn up. Of course, I was a bit angry on him for that but I was very happy to know that he got placed in a company which suits his passion and his caliber. Many days later, he had texted everyone where and what he is doing.

After nearly a month, we finally had the hefty treat at Enté Keralam. Although its been a long time, since we all grouped together, I felt there was still something missing. Something that we don’t even know that we had it. But the day went great, we were having fun together after a long time. In the treat, Karthi and Ishwarya’s friend had also joined us. About the food, the food was really good. Following a very traditional kerala style, the essence and taste of the word was very unique. The briyani was made out of Tapioca, which I didn’t expect.

Following their treat, came Santhosh’s birthday. It was very odd to know that almost half of our gang did not wish him at midnight. The next day we celebrated the birthday of Santhosh, with the usuals, there was no fun as we had for Sri on his birthday. It was very clear to me, that the things have changed a lot from what it had been in the past three months. And to make things, even more clearly distinguishable in Santhosh’s treat that night, we went to the same ol’ Palmshore Multi-Cuisine Restaurant. We almost sat in the same places where we had sat for Sri’s birthday treat, but the excitement, fun, and joy we had for Sri’s treat was definitely missing in this one.

To make things even more unbearable, my friends have started to say things that make me lose all hope that I can see them they were before. I was very happy that I have finally found some awesomely fun friends like in my childhood days, but now I know its not going to last forever. The slow crumbling of our gang is even visible to 3rd persons and outsiders such as our colleagues in office, the one who sold us bread/omelettes, the one who sold us corns/peanuts and stuff, the cafeteria persons in our Terazza — as they ask why we don’t hangout together like the old times.

This week, I was forced to be in absolute loneliness as both Chetna and Arun Anna (the only people to whom I talk well in my team) had went to their native places. There was no one to talk or have fun with, and I became really mad as I literally slammed my head on the desk in front of me. Sometimes I text my friends Shubham, Divine, Nalini, Lilly, Kanchana to get out of this but it certainly didn’t help. Each and every second clocked like an hour and I was mentally crying a lot as I waited for the day/week to end. I felt even more sorry for Abhinaya who had absolutely no company for lunch and in the evenings. Without Chetna and Ishwarya, everyone behave so independent, walk by their own way and I can’t really understand why.

Yesterday, me and Dharani made the shift from our rooms and shifted to an AC room. Thereby leaving behind Vishnu too :( since he wouldn’t join us because of his inability to stay in cool temperatures. Everyone are slowly moving away from me one by one because of some natural and unstoppable readings. Should I learn to accept them or should I do something about it. With an uncertain future, I couldn’t take strong decision regarding that.

After the besant nagar visit, I once again met with Arumugam. I was totally out of money since I had given everything to my friends for the birthday gift. Nevertheless, we had a great lunch at Hot Chips and I bought Counter Strike — Global Offensive from Reliance Digital. Whenever we meet, he used to tell me about everyone in his office and through that I came across Praveen — a geek just like me and Mr.David — a Techie and a Steve Jobs fan. It seems he had wished that I should meet this person and fortunately I had a chance to visit his office that day. I was waiting in the reception while he finishes his work and a group of people to the seats near me. They were chatting about something and suddenly one of them snatched my Xype and asked details about it. We were having a small talk and after 5–10 mins, Arumugam came out after finishing his work. He was unaware to the fact which surprised him to know that I had talked with them and I too was enthralled to know that it was Mr.David. Later, We went to a mind blowing Tamil movie named ‘Saatai’. The movie gave a very good message to me, that no matter how much we care for our friends, we can’t have them forever in our hands. Life has to move on, no matter what and that gave me a partial answer to my question why God doesn’t let my best friends to be with me forever. Well, I hope everything happens for a reason….
