Just Another Tiresome Week…

Although its just 4 days past my previous post, a lot of significant things happened during this time. It’s July 24th 2011, and I’m writing this post being very tired after playing some BioShock 2 on my PC. There has been a notable change in me, after I started the Level X mission and continuing to improve myself and I’m also enthralled by the visit of my classmate Roopa to my blog. Lilly has been an active helper for me to reach Level X, and I’m confident that I can accomplish it sooner than I had expected. And Apple had finally released its latest operating system Mac OS X Lion, for which I had been waiting so impatiently for over 4 months.

Last thursday, when we were having our lab session, we were informed by our HOD that we’ll be conducting a National Level Technical Symposium in our college. He mentioned that there will be a small contest among all the students of the CSE Department in naming the Symposium. I had no interest to name it, but I had a thought of keeping it as ‘TechniTriX’ which definitely has no meaning. Later, the selected name was ‘CyberNautz’, which was from a Second Year Girl from our department. I heard that she had been searching for a lot of good names and that she had been asking from her sister from another college. Anyway, I was called by our HOD to the department immediately and was told to start working on the design for the Poster, Cerficates, Banners, and the Invitation. Of course, I’m not going to gain anything from working for any of these nor that I’m going to get paid for it, but I have to do it. Its really awkward that whatever good thing happens to our college, I’m the first one to get affected by it.

On Friday, me and Arumugam set out to the department in the morning and asked Vasanth sir who we should proceed with the design. From that moment till the evening, we had been searching here and there, walking from floor to floor to find a PC without viruses. Finally during the last hour of the day, we made a preliminary design for the poster and came back home. During the evening, Suganya called everyone through text messaging for enrolling their names for the NIIT Tech Test, which was about to be held the next day. After thinking for about a million times and asking Nalini, Lilly, Panneer, I decided to write the test. Then I had to send the list of students to NIIT by email as Suganya asked me to.

Yesterday, I woke up very early as I would for getting ready for college. I started the download for Mac OS X Lion as I had scheduled it for this day. Then once again, I started thinking whether I should write the test or not. At about 9AM, I boarded the bus with an aim of watching ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2’ but on the way, I decided to write the test because of the intense advice from my classmates to write it. Then I got myself a pen, went to RS Puram (my most favorite place to be in Coimbatore) started walking towards NIIT. On looking at iPlanet, I immediately thought of getting in but I didn’t since I was told by Kirthika that the test was about to start 10.30 AM. The time was 10.28AM, so I started rushing through the traffic and reached NIIT exactly at 10.30PM. I took out my pen, filled up the form, and headed to my old classroom for writing the test. At about 11AM, the test started with an extremely easy question paper which I was able to finish within 15 mins. Then I sat idle for the remaining 45 minutes, pretending myself as if I was doing some rough work for the questions. After finishing the test, I headed out to iPlanet with Panneer, Arumugam, Dinakaran and Nataraj. I asked my friend Vishnu at iPlanet about Apple’s words about upgrading to Lion from the Apple Retail Stores. He denied the fact and told that it was not possible in India. Slightly disappointed, we came out of iPlanet after surfing around the store for about 20 minutes. Then my dad called me whether he can turn off my Macbook Pro and stop the download but I refused to do so. Later, I skipped dinner and headed towards the Central Theatre with Arumugam. We got tickets for the Harry Potter movie and managed to get our seats by 2.15 PM. The movie was very satisfying for a Harry Potter fan like me, and the 3D visuals were stunning to the eye. By the end of the movie, I was immediately moved to tears when I thought about the golden moments I had with Suhirtha Muhil akka when she used to narrate the story of Harry Potter after reading each and every chapter from the Book. I updated my status on Facebook and returned back home. Feeling very tired, I couldn’t start the work for the design so I postponed it to the next day. Surprizingly, the download which I had started in the morning had finished and I started upgrading to Mac OS X Lion with lots of enthusiasm. At about 7PM, I finished upgrading both of my Macs to its latest operating system. But sadly my Macbook Pro is experiencing a lot of performance issues after the upgrade and a huge fall in battery life which is driving me nuts!

Today morning, I woke up very late and started working on the design for the poster of CyberNautz ’11. I was also having some network problems with my phone (which was later solved) but I did manage to help my friend Lilly for the Quiz competition she was having at NIIT. By afternoon, I finished the work for the poster with no interest and uploaded the design to http://cybernautz.parithi.com. Then I had my lunch, started to play BioShock and type this post whilst Linkin Park playing in the background….
