Happy Birthday, Parithi.Me!!
Before you dig in to this post, I wish you a very Happy Friendship Day. Parithi.Me has been a public diary of mine, rather being just a weblog showcasing my thoughts and memories over the Internet, and today it starts its second year because of your deary support to it and your interest in knowing about me. So I take great pleasure in thanking all of you for spending your precious time in reading my blog and I wish you continue the same till the end thereby keeping this expensive Blog to be alive forever.
It’s August 7th, the first Sunday of August, obviously the International Friendship Day and I was confused on the date last week since many of my friends were wishing me on August 1st. I had updated my status on Facebook after doing several research on this regard and my friend Shubham Shresth had pointed out that the Friendship day falls on the 1st Sunday of August. During the past week, I had my boring Internal exams for which I never study and write the exams on my own. I had got my my New Tiki (HP V210 Flash Drive), Wall-E BRD and several books delivered to my home, which I had ordered through Flipkart. And once again, I was asked by Vasanth sir to come to college on a Holiday in order to design the stuff for the upcoming CyberNautz ’11. But unfortunately the day went in vain as we had not completed anything useful on that day. And regarding the website, I am really proud and happy that people are actually using the Online registration form designed by me for enrolling themselves for the event which is going to happen in our college next Friday. I had also joined NIIT for the ASP.NET Course which was my subtle idea to make my Sundays more productive than the rest.
Today, I had a sudden thought of bring my Compaq Presario 700 back to life. So I took it out from the dust, brushed and cleaned it and opened it with ecstasy. The battery was dead, and so I plugged in the charger and made it boot. It was slower than the three toed sloth, hardly trying itself to bring up the Windows XP Desktop. I couldn’t bare the speed, so I quickly took out my Tiki, downloaded several light weight Linux distributions such as the Damn Small Linux, Tinycore and Arch Linux and installed them onto it using the Live USB Method. Everything ran pretty well but none of them gave the visual pleasure to use them. So I dropped the idea, made the laptop boot Windows XP by taking its own time, after which I installed VLC player, Dropbox and Google Chrome which actually took about an hour to finish. The ridiculous fact about this laptop is that this costs more than my high-end MacBook Pro, which actually jolted me to think what will be the fate of my Mac after 10 years later. Anyways, I had to move to NIIT for the class so I turned off the laptop and started from my home.
After I reached NIIT, I was wished for the Friendship day by Deborah Jackulin, followed by the surprise from my favorite fan, Saranya Selvamani who had tied her Friendship Band around my right hand wrist. I was simply stunned and had no words to say to her as I stammered something from my mouth in order to wish her back. Subsequently, Kirthika and Jeya Sudha had tied their bands next to Saranya’s. Roopa and Serena Woolridge wished me for the same by shaking hands with me. Saranya Sivaraj, Renuga Devi and Silver Fancy Quel also did the same with a smile :) I was very happy about these events which even made me to think that this is the Best Friendship Day Ever!! My Network Operator AirTel had been punishing its customers by charging me for SMS on this day, but that didn’t stop me from wishing my other Friends (Shubham Shresth, Suhirtha Muhil, Prince, Freddy, Panneer Selvam, Nalini, Lilly, Arumugam, Kirthika and many others) by which I had lost almost Rs.44 from my account balance. But sadly some didn’t respond back maybe because of the tariff or maybe because they don’t consider me as their friend :( Anyway, the day went well interestingly as it was concluded by a 16-minute call from my best buddy Prince in the evening as we talked about his future shipping carreer and another surprise from Sharmila for another wish through gtalk.
I believe that’s it for this post, I guess that there will be a lot more for the following Cybernautz week. So stay tuned for the next week’s post. And once again, Happy Friendship Day, I really don’t know where I’ll be without you guys!! U All!!
