It’s Black & White All Over Again…

It’s been exactly 32 days after we joined Consim and almost every day was a day full of enjoyment with my friends. Two weeks back we celebrated the Consimites Day, with loads of fun starting from morning till the late night. Being friday, we all coloured up with casuals and jeans to office, which was fully decorated with lots of baloons on every cabin. We took snaps of ourselves as we roamed through the office like a playground in the early morning. My friends Chetna, Ishwarya and Abhinaya wanted to take photos of themselves with the balloon arc made by the entrance of the office, whereas others wanted to take snap of themselves working on their PCs to show their friends and family. The day went well but by evening, many seniors started popping all the balloons. Although I’m not a big lover of balloons, I didn’t like people popping it especially when my friends nearby didn’t like the sound of it. To add more, I secretly snatched two balloons for Ishwarya and for one of her friends nearby, safeguarding it from many others who wanted to pop it for about 15 minutes but unfortunately the balloons died in the hands of our own friends Srinath and Karthi. After all the fun we headed up to the terrace and enjoyed a lot by taking creative snaps and panoramas of ourselves (soon to come in the Xype Gallery) while Karthik and Santhosh took funny portraits of themselves. Then we moved out to the park where we finally saw a blue sky in the evening after a long time since we usually come out of the office at night. We were informed to move to where the event was about to take place, but we leisurely walked and took rest in the park with a small chit-chat as I took a HDR group photo of my team. Little did we know that the event had already started and we were already late, until one of our mentors Vijayakanth came out in search for us. One of the amusing things that happened on the way, was made by Dharani, who got really tensed with the situation. After a few minutes he realised that he had kept the lunch bag back at the park and so he ran like a bullet train back to where we were and ultimately rolled to the ground in the event of taking his lunch bag. The moment was really amusing and ackward for a minute as it created a strange picture by our office building but we were all happy that he didnt get hurt. Finally at the big night in the auditorium, where Consimites day was all about, our friend Vishnu snatched the award for his creative idea of matchbox concept. :) Later on, we had a great buffet dinner and we all set off to our homes at around 9.30 PM.

The week after, all of my team started working real hard on their tasks and our usual entertainment and fun started to deteriorate day by day gradually, until Srinath’s birthday showed up. Srinath was the first person in our team to celebrate his birthday in Consim and therefore guys had ridiculous plans for his birthday. At the pantry room, where we celebrate birthdays of every consimite, a beautiful blackforest cake was ordered for his birthday. Of course, the cake is not what made his birthday special to us and him. It was the sparkles, eye-liner, and the cake cream on Srinath’s face which made the day fun, entertaining and special to all of us. He had to change his shirt, clean his face for over 20 minutes in order to remove at least half of the stuff from his face to look okay in the office with us. Later on, we went out to nearby beach with Bharath and Arun Prasad, and we had a great time which words couldn’t express. Following that, we had a great birthday treat by Srinath in the PalmShore Multi-Cuisine Restaurant and I would say it would be the best treat I’ve ever had in my life. Of course, I’ve been to many birthday treats but most of the time, I would sit idle doing nothing. But here, there was some one else to replace that sort of character and therefore, I had a great time than I ever had before in any birthday treat of my life. Speaking of treats, I was always known as a kind of guy who doesn’t like food to be shared with me or from me. But hey, as I said before, its time to change. I’ve gradually evolved to be just like others, I see no problem in sharing food anymore (at-least when it looks good). I ordered the Arabian Grape Juice, which I really loved and I loved it even more when I shared it with my friends. I believe that my new friends made the impossible that no one could do to me in the past 21 years. I really wish we could hang out like this every now and then and I could give a treat to my friends like that for some random reason as my birthday is an year away from now.

Something that shouldn’t be said : When I left Coimbatore, I really wanted to start a whole new life. Something that would define me totally different from what I was before in the past 4 years. When I stated in FaceBook that I feel like Ash Ketchum leaving Palettown, searching for a whole new adventure and new friends, I meant it. [Speaking of pokemon, coincidentally, my friends Srinath and Chetna are Pokemon fans themselves and we’ve named ourselves with Pokemon names. For example, Snorlax and Psyduck for Srinath (Sorry, Srinath :P ) and Charmander for Chetna]. Coming back to the point, my quest for new friends isn’t what I hoped it to be. Of course, my friends are great, fun and charming but still I’m easily the odd one out from the boys especially when I hang outdoors with them. I definitely feel very lonely when boys are concerned. It’s fun to be around with everyone together but having no one dedicated for you is rather unpleasant. I don’t wish to go back but at the same time, its difficult go forward because everyone’s character as soo new to me. Apart from Dharani and Vishnu who have been with me from my college — Taking my new friends, Character-wise, there’s Chetna and Bharath who think and act just like me, there’s Ishwarya and Srinath who are completely new type of people whom I like, there’s Arun anna who’s a Mac User and a tech guy whom I like a lot among the seniors, there’s Saichitra mam who is an inspiration to us all. These are my primary set of people whom I like to be best friends with, but I almost lost all my hope now. It’s been 30+ days, which is extremely too much time for me to analyse people and I have certainly failed. I didn’t get the response from any of them to the level I expect from each of them. All I can do now, is sit in my PC and work, work, work just like all others do nowadays and just get on with it. You could stop me by saying, ‘Hey you are speaking too soon! There’s still lot of time to discover new friends’. Well, yes I maybe speaking too soon but hey, if I were meant to have great friends, why I should go search for them? So, at-least for now, I’m not going to try anything stupid and let time decide whatever it wants to do. If you are one of those people, who have read this passage for more than two times, just to understand what I’m blabbering about, a big thanks to you..

When I went home back two days back, I observed a lot a things while traveling the bus, wandering the railway station and travelling on the train alone. There is so much to change on this planet, and even the smallest ideas we can dream of, can change a life of an individual. My everyday role-model, ‘my wrist watch’, the reason why I look at it so many times during the day is not to see the time, its to watch the second hand tick-toc-ing through the dial. No matter what happy, sad moment you experience everyday, your watch doesn’t stop. Although, it does only a small work, it helps you to make the most important plans and choices you plan for the future, and remember the times of the past. It continues to round the clock till its battery runs out, and even when it dies, it says the time accurate to the second it has lived on this planet. That’s something even humans couldn’t do. So, just like the second hand, love what you do, it maybe insignificant for you but it maybe a big leap for your company or for those who depend on you. Don’t worry about the sad moments you face, the clock is ticking, and those moments have a time to expire. Believe in yourself that you can do anything. Believe me, I’ve done so many many things which I had considered impossible in the past and I’m sure every one of you could do it if you just believe in yourself and work towards the goal with aspiration. Learn to earn happiness from the smiles of others by helping them in their difficult times. Always be happy to help others without expecting anything from them, even if you have a lot of work to do for yourself coz everything else than making someone else happy is secondary…..
